Conference FAQs — Before & During the Event

Welcome to the 23rd Global Intergenerational Conference Attendee FAQs! Here you’ll find quick answers to help you prepare and make the most of your time with us during the conference.

  • Check out our Travel page for recommended hotels. If you still need a room, please book soon as space is limited.

  • Registration & Information is open during the times listed below and will be in the Marriott Ballroom Foyer on the 2nd floor of the Louisville Marriott Downtown, 280 W. Jefferson Street, Louisville, KY 40202. You will need to pick up your name badge and conference materials before attending the Welcome to Louisville! Conference Kick-Off Reception on Wednesday, June 25th at 5:30 pm.

    Wednesday, June 25th:  2:00 pm – 7:00 pm 

    Thursday, June 26th: 7:30 am – 7:00 pm

    Friday, June 27th: 7:30 am – 12:00 pm

  • The following meals and events are included in your registration:

    • Wednesday, June 25: Welcome to Louisville, KY! Conference Kick-Off Reception

    • Thursday, June 26: Continental Breakfast, Generations United Awards Luncheon, Program and Research Showcase & Refreshment Break

    • Friday, June 27: Janet Sainer Breakfast (continental), Closing Plenary & Luncheon

  • Please inform our staff at registration, or email conference@gu.org if you haven’t already noted this in your registration.

  • For the week of the conference, forecasted temperatures range from highs in the 90s during the day to nighttime lows in the 70s (F). It will be hot and humid outside. We recommend wearing layered clothing to accommodate the difference in temperature between the air-conditioned conference spaces and the warm outdoors. Be sure to also bring a reusable water bottle and contribute to doing your part by refilling at water stations available throughout the hotel. Business-casual attire is recommended while attending conference functions.
